As a member of the DLR Forecasting Team, the Analyst - Forecasting will be responsible for the development of the Forecast and Annual Operating Plan for Resort Attendance. This role will also be responsible for a high volume of ad hoc analysis, as well as owning School Calendar analytics, regression model development, and driving for improved understanding of visitation patterns. Successful candidates will develop strong working relationships with Resort partners (Operations, Pricing, Product Development, and Consumer Insights) and drive meaningful business analysis to improve future decision making, while continually improving our understanding of Guest visitations patterns and forecast accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of the Monthly Forecast and Annual Operating Plan. Build detail by residency, incorporating historical seasonality, holiday and school vacation shifts, and Resort initiative impacts. 
  • Prepare the consolidated DLR Forecasting Revenue Presentations, incorporating supporting schedules that detail existing and prior year trends to accurately forecast attendance and highlight business risks and opportunities.
  • Responsible for a high volume of ad hoc analyses and DATA requests relating to Resort Attendance, such as Market/Segment performance, Attraction incremental, impact of ticketing programs, and Guest demographics.
  • Partner with various Resort Teams to understand the context and use behind DATA requests, recommend appropriate responses, retrieve and analyze DATA, and educate partners to ensure proper use of information.
  • Develop forecasting models and analytics in support of improved understand of key underlying business drivers.
  • Maintain Complimentary, Historical Records, and School Calendar DATA sets including analytics. 
  • Prepare detailed attendance reporting and provide clear, concise driver explanations to Forecasting Management and our Resort partners

Key knowledge and skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of computer software programs including Excel, Access, PowerPoint,and Word
  • Financial Accounting
  • knowledge of Statistical Packages (e.g. SPSS, SAS, etc)
  • Must possess superior analytical skills and be capable of completing highly detailed analyses of operating results
  • Must be comfortable working with uncertainty and be able to balance multiple tasks
  • Previous experience with Executive level presentations
