Position Overview:
Chevron Global Downstream is accepting online
applications for the position of Regional Team Leader, Market Research
& Analytics (0707-50177321) located in Houston, TX.
Global Supply and Trading is building its commercial analytical
capability, and is seeking talented and motivated candidates to
establish its new Market Research and Analytics department (MRA).
Successful candidates will join the new team and create a high level of
analytical capability to support upstream, downstream, and trading
commercial activities.
The Regional Team Leader position contributes to this capability by
acting as liaison between the MRA group and the supply and trading
teams. Works with supply and trading teams to identify business
requirements. Then, works with MRA to develop and deliver analytical
tools, methods and services as required by the business.
Position Details: Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
1. Assists MRA Manager in developing and sustaining mission, vision and strategic direction for Analytics in GS&T
2. Actively leads, manages, supervises and allocates a pool of regional analysts supporting the supply and trading organization
3. Supports regional supply and trading teams and commercial analysts
with projects and analyses to supplement their capability or capacity,
for example capital projects, business development, contracts etc.
4. Acts as a liaison between the business and the MRA organization for
region of responsibility (Houston). Gathers business requirements for
tools and analytics from Commercial Analysts (and respective traders)
in the region. Disseminates improvement ideas for tools and processes
generated regionally to MRA Team. Manages relationships with business
unit trading desks, team leads, and GM's to ensure research
requirements are being met.
5. Works with MRA Analysts to identify the modeling requirements that
are common across BU's and regions. Works with the Commercial Analysts
to tailor the tools developed by the MRA Team.
6. Ensures that established standards and documentation practices are
employed at the Regional level. Ensures standardized tools and methods
built by the MRA Team are employed by the Commercial Analysts. Actively
communicates with Regional Team Leads in other hubs to ensure exchange
of ideas
7. Conducts periodic training for supply, traders and commercial analysts on latest analytical tools and methods
8. Recruits, hires and supervises personnel for MRA regional analyst pool
9. Maintains relationships with industry and academia to bring talent and ideas into the company
10. Engages SOG, Risk Control, and other corporate analytical groups to
exploit synergies (people, tools, methods, data, market
coverage)Interfaces with regional analysts to gather analytical
requirements and incorporate in Engines
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in quantitative discipline with commensurate experience
- PhD or Masters in Math, Economics, Engineering, Finance, other Quantitative disciplines preferred.
