Position Overview:
Chevron Corporation is accepting online applications
for the position of Operational Excellence Performance Analyst located
in San Ramon, California.
Chevron’s Corporate Health, Environment and Safety (HES)
Department seeks a highly self-motivated individual with analytical
skills and knowledge of safety metrics to enhance Chevron’s
reporting on Operational Excellence and HES performance. This position
is responsible for the validation, analysis and reporting of HES
performance for Chevron Executive Management and the corporation. Must
be a self-starter, with ability to work in a small team to meet
deadlines while maintaining accuracy of the data. Assists in external
benchmarking on safety performance. Manages the Chairman’s Zero
Is Attainable safety awards program and website. Successful candidate
will have knowledge of safety metrics and demonstrated analytical and
Excel skills.
Position Details: Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
30% HES Performance Data Collection and Validation
- Responsible for collection and monthly validation of operating
company data in the SiteSafeTM Database in preparation for reporting to
management. Work with operating company Data Management teams to ensure
data accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain data QA/QC scorecard. Make recommendations to improve the timeliness and quality of data reporting.
30% HES Performance Data Analysis
- Provide Senior Analyst with data and analysis to respond to Executive Leadership inquiries.
- Conduct trend analysis and work with statistician as directed.
25% HES Performance Reporting
- Provide QA/QC support for Monthly, Quarterly and Annual OE Performance Reporting.
- Develop scalable reports to allow operating companies to properly verify and trend their OE results.
- Have advanced skills in use of MS Excel, MS Access and Crystal Info for report creation.
- Have a basic knowledge of statistics and ability to read and interpret statistical process control charts.
- Work with Senior Analyst to select and produce the appropriate type of graphs to effectively display the data.

- Validate the eligibility of operating companies to receive the Chairman’s Zero is Attainable award
- Provide safety data for benchmarking efforts
- Participate with IT in the governance of the corporate reporting data systems.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Safety
Specialist/Engineering, Other Engineering, Business Administration (MBA
preferred), Science, or Statistics.
- Ability to synthesize data and analysis into clear, concise
communication for Chevron Executive Leaders. Ability to quickly master
IT databases & validation. Requires highly productive,
self-starter.
