Summary
Collects, corrects, analyzes, and shares data in order to support operational efficiencies, financial viability, and various improvement initiatives. Works closely with QSS Associate Director to provide operational benchmarking data and interpretation to hospital leadership. Consults with Administrators, Department Directors, and team leaders to decrease waste, reduce variability, and eliminate defects. Assists in planning, implementing, and coordinating various quality improvement activities. Serves as an internal expert and resource to Administration, Department Directors, and QSS regarding operational efficiencies and improvement projects

Education: Bachelors Degree

Experience Minimum: Five years experience in management engineering.

Experience must include 2 years of experience in healthcare databases, complex software interactions, project management, or performance improvement. Must be familiar with hospital operations and the concepts of benchmarking. Experienced with Six Sigma, Lean,Focus- PDCA, or similar methodologies. Must demonstrate statistical analysis knowledge.

Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work well with and through others. Able to produce high quality work with minimal supervision. Able to communicate effectively with diverse audience (clinical and non-clinical, varying levels of education and responsibility) . Proficient with data collection, analysis and presentation. Proficient with various software, database and computer applications. Able to identify and articulate workflow / efficiency barriers. Able to conceptualize and communicate potential solutions from benchmarking studies. Able to perform statistical analysis in support of improvement initiatives. Well-informed of improvement concepts, team dynamics, and leadership coaching techniques. Well-informed of healthcare initiatives and challenges.

  • Collects, corrects, and submits operational benchmarking data in order to support operational efficiencies and financial viability. .
  • Analyzes data to identify areas of opportunity and excellence.
  • Works closely with QSS Associate Director to provide benchmarking data and interpretation to hospital leadership.
  • Consults with Administrators, Department Directors, Medical Staff, team leaders and QSS staff to decrease waste, reduce variability, and eliminate defects through the implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Assists in planning, implementing, and coordinating various quality improvement activities, such as time and motion studies ,work flow analysis defect analysis, and root cause (non- clinical) analysis. .
  • Evaluates the outcomes of improvement efforts, and redirects efforts
  • Works with management on an ongoing basis to gain support for productivity measurement, and to increase employee awareness of the productivity benchmarking process.
  • Makes the connection between designated work and other ARMC improvement initiatives, and communicates those links.
