Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the managing and maintenance of business processes
which include demand management, sales and operations planning, and
Master Scheduling.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops and maintains capacity models for 3 plants.
2. Develops sales planning, production planning, inventory planning, backlog planning, and resource planning processes.
3. Defines and develops forecasting process.
4. Analyzes data of demand vs. forecast, production vs. plan, inventory
levels, service levels, productivity, and staffing levels. Identifies
out-of-balance situations and presents recommendations.
5. Creates the master production schedule and the rough-cut capacity plan.
6. Leads or participates on Process Improvement Teams.
7. Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.
Required Experience:
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business (or related discipline) with 5
years of experience in a production planning environment and APICS CPIM
certification.
Any deviations from the above requirements (e.g. substituting more work
experience for required education) will be evaluated and approved by
the Vice President - Operations.
Preferred: Five to
10 years experience in production planning and inventory control.,
experience with ERP/MRPII and system implementations, experience
leading projects, experience using problem- solving methodologies
(prefer Six Sigma), experience in supervision.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledgeable in the operation of personal computers and software relating to MRP, spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Demonstrated use of critical path thinking skills;
willingness to take ownership for work and behavior; high need for
process improvement, accuracy, and completeness.
- Functional knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to train others on the theories of P&IC (plan, execute, measure, modify if necessary).
- Strong mathematical aptitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated self-development goals and results.

Purchasing, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, MIS, and
Engineering personnel.
