Carilion Clinic is
recruiting a Performance Improvement Consultant to join its growing
internal consulting team. Made up of seven hospitals and 82
primary care facilities, Carilion recently received national attention
when it announced plans to transform its operational model into a
multi-specialty physician clinic. We are seeking a talented,
motivated individual to help us complete our conversion to a cutting
edge healthcare model.
Description
The Performance Improvement Consultant reports directly to the Vice
President of Quality Integration and Improvement, and is responsible for
leading initiatives to improve workflow, clinical quality, financial
performance, and patient satisfaction. The position focuses on
improvement activities with a high level of exposure in the
organization. Specific duties include:
- Provide support for the development and administration of the organization's quality improvement initiatives
- Work with physicians and staff to assess the delivery of patient care
and identify opportunities for improvement through data and process
analysis
- Lead and/or facilitate improvement teams and programs
- Educate and train employees at all levels of the organization on process improvement tools and methodologies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Management Science,
Healthcare/Business Administration or related field (preference given to
candidates with Master's degree)
- Thorough knowledge of process improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to lead improvement initiatives
- Capacity to work under minimal supervision
- Strong computer and interpersonal skills
