Application Engineer
The Application Engineer ensures the success of
our customers by providing installation, configuration and training assistance
for DataNet software and to guide the integration of the software into our
customers’ Quality programs. The individual filling this position must have
excellent communication skills, a technical background, and an ability to work
with a wide variety of individuals. The person must be equally able to work
independently or with a team.
Willingness to travel domestically is
required for the position. Travel schedules vary, but as much as 75% of time may
be spent at customer locations. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting on-site installation and system configuration at customer
facilities
- Conducting application training sessions to administrators and shop floor
personnel at customer facilities
- Interfacing software application with manufacturing production devices such
as CMM, CNC and PLC
- Interfacing software application with manufacturing production systems such
as ERP, MES and HMI
- Interpreting customer requirements, defining and designing proposed
solutions, producing functional specifications and coding custom applications
and reports
- Managing customer expectations and delivery schedules and responding to
customer inquiries
- Providing sales engineering support as needed
Requirements
- Technical/computer programming professional experience
- Professional experience implementing enterprise software
- Familiarity with shop floor manufacturing operations
- Positive attitude and self-motivated
- Strong communication skills
- Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills
- Bachelors degree
- Background in Quality or SPC
