Description
Human Resources is a shared service group that provides support across the San Diego and San Jose Cell Analysis business. Currently, we seek a Human Resources professional with a specialization in systems and data management. This is a great opportunity for the person who is passionate about using data to drive business decisions, has the desire to continuously improve, and thrives in a fast pace environment.
 
The HRIS Analyst  is accountable for the oversight and day-to-day management of human resource information systems (HRIS) associated with the collection, retrieval, accessibility and usage of employee information for Human Resource department planning and activities. This role maintains internal database files and tables and develops custom reports to meet the requirements of HR management and staff. Collaborates with Corporate payroll to coordinate retrieval and reporting functions. This position is expected to provide data analysis support across the California-based businesses. Monitors and improves data collection and efficiency of reporting procedures. Relies on past experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This role has the opportunity to take lead on related projects; acts as expert on own projects and communicates the “big picture”; examines implications on key stakeholders and the organization.
 
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintains Human Resources Information Systems (SAP & Master Data, HR Planning, Compensation, Performance Management, etc.) 
  • Responsible for ensuring all employee related data is accurate and kept current in SAP (i.e. -new hires, leaves of absence, transfers, terminations, retirements, and other status changes)
  • Accountable for managing the timekeeping system, ensure timekeepers are trained and maintain the appropriate documentation. Responds to inquiries regarding: vacation balances, paycheck deductions, wage & hour law, etc.
  • Provides training and assistance to HR colleagues relative to HRIS and other software programs.
  • Compiles, analyzes and summarizes workforce data.
  • Prepares and writes special reports for management as requested for both site and Cell Analysis (e.g., headcount, demographics, turnover, etc.)
  • Applies the Company's Affirmative Action Plan in supporting the Customer Service group by providing EEO reports as may be required for the sale of Cell Analysis equipment and products.
  • Serves as the primary contact for payroll related issues for Payroll Service Center and associates.
  • Resolves employee questions and concerns in a responsive, customer focused manner.
  • Collaborate on other departmental projects (as assigned).
  • Diversify skill sets as needed based on changing business needs. 
 
Qualifications
  • Requires a BA/BS in Human Resources Management or a related discipline. A range of 2-5 years HRIS experience in medium to large corporations or an equivalent combination of related and education experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of HR databases (e.g., SAP, PeopleSoft, Abra, etc.). Demonstrated ability using techniques to analyze and manipulate data.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to labor, compensation and Leaves of Absence.
  • Requires strong command of Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, use of pivotal tables & filters, etc). Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Know of relational databases such as: Access or FileMaker Pro is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data requests into reports and summaries.
  • Effective oral & written communication skills. Ability to communicate with a wide-range of people.
  • Possess previous experience maintaining a high degree of confidentiality, exuding tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to create organizational and filing systems.
  • Must be customer service oriented with the ability to anticipate future needs.
  • Demonstrated good sense of humor, ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment and desire to closely collaborate with a small, cohesive team of dedicated HR professionals.
  • Must be able to self-direct and operate independently within a team environment.
