Description
 
GENERAL FUNCTION:
This position reports to Manager of Global Logistics/Director of Mfg. Planning.  It is responsible for the management of the US Region Demand & Supply Planning.  As such, is also responsible for establishing and maintaining appropriate Finished Good Inventory Levels required serving all HUB 1 internal and external Demand needs, and achieving associated Service Levels.  Establishes strong linkage with the and MST’s, allowing for clear understanding of business direction, and development of appropriate Logistics action plans to properly serve same.  Ensures appropriate coordination with Finance, Regional Marketing (US), Plant Logistics, and Regional Planners.
 
Has management oversight for key US Logistics Metrics that include, however are not restricted too:
* Service Levels
* Backorders
* FG Inventory Dollars & Turns
* Forecast Accuracy

Is responsible for conducting appropriate levels of analytics in each area — examining for performance aligned with business goals/objectives and advising of any associated risks to achieve same.  Makes recommendations where corrective actions are required.
 
Is responsible for effective planning and execution of the Demand & Supply Consensus Process.
 
Responsible for direct reports of 3 to 5 Planners — their development and functional guidance along with associated department expense budget. Ensures compliance to established HR policies/procedures and functionally consistent application of Logistics practices.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the US Regional Demand & Supply Planning Process, Inventory Control and Product Distribution
  • Ensures monthly Regional Forecast Consensus Meetings occur with appropriate Marketing and Business Team input.  Creates and reviews statistical models, metrics, and reports to facilitate understanding of Demand Forecasts and influences / recommends adjustments to same.
  • Coordinates Demand input across all Regions, as it relates to US sourcing considerations.
  • Ensure consistency of Forecasted Demand with Finance and MST’s
  • Develops and maintains all data and parameters associated with the Demand & Supply Planning Process
  • Takes leadership role in coordinating Supply Planning across internal suppliers (Broken Bow, Sumter, Plymouth, and San Lorenzo).
  • Responsible for managing the Supply Chain of all OEM Party Finished Goods Suppliers.
  • For OEM’ed products, maintains updated records of Capacity, Utilization and Production/Inventory Models. 
  • Implements go to market plans with Marketing/MST, specifically establishing initial stocking quantities and locations, recommending DC’s and establishing target inventory levels on new products.
  • Establishes/Revises target stocking levels in the US, and maintains appropriate coordination across DC’s.
  • Maintains and ensures consistent application of current Logistics systems and processes
  • Review and evaluates the performance of department personnel to ensure that satisfactory standards of performance and service are being achieved.   Assures establishment of programs for the training and development of departmental personnel.   Initiate revision of operating practices and standards to improve performance and reduce costs.
  • Collaborates with the other members of the PAS Global Logistics Team on applicable projects/initiatives.
  • As necessary, consults and  coordinates planning activities with the Global Supply Chain Manager.

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
BS/BA with a concentration in Logistics, Operations Management, Finance or Engineering.
LICENSES or CERTIFICATIONS:
APICS/CPM/CPIM/IBF certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of eight years experience in the Materials Management field.  Five years experience in Master Scheduling and three years experience in PIC strongly preferred.  Prior management experience preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Must have strong communication skills, and analytics acumen, with a thorough understanding of Manufacturing Information Systems and analytical software (SAP/R3 preferred).   Excellent planning skills and capable of coordinating across several functions/regions.
KNOWLEDGE OF SPECIFIC PROCEDURES/PRACTICES:
Must have proven knowledge planning systems and working knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost accounting.  Highly focused/motivated by achieving customer service goals.
