Summary: This is a senior level position that will consult
with clients and work closely with Account Management staff members to
produce outstanding research deliverables. This position will also
supervise and mentor a team of project directors and field specialists
possessing various levels of Market Research expertise. Duties will
include responsibility for comprehensive quantitative research project
oversight from inception to completion of specific projects within a
mix of vertical industries including consumer products and technology
products (both B2B and B2C). Position involves minor travel, as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Account management and business development:
- Interacting and communicating with clients in a consultative role
- Supervising, training and mentoring up to five project directors and research associates
- Managing the research process to meet client objectives and deadlines; monitor over-all quality and progress of work
- In coordination with the VP, initiate programs for staff education and career development
- Developing project-specific research design options and questionnaire creation and reveiw
- Creating analytical plans and coordinating data tabulation and statistical processing requests
- Supervising and quality assurance on sample and field service bids and overseeing online data collection process
- Contributing analysis for topline and final reports, including writing executive summaries
- Assist account management staff with business development efforts, budget management and overall organizational improvements
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum years of experience: 10 or more years of
market research supplier or equivalent business consulting firm
including at least 5 years of client-facing consultative
responsibilities
- At least 5 years prior management experience, preferably in a small business environment
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Business or Social Sciences preferred; graduate degree a strong plus)
- Solid understanding of market research methodologies
and research design. Strong analytic and conceptual skills; must have
experience interpreting a wide variety of multi-variate analytical
techniques
- “Hand’s on” experience with online survey research processes
- Solid SPSS experience is a requirement, including
advanced multivariate techniques (e.g., Factor Analysis, Cluster
Analysis, Correspondence Analysis, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including superb proofreading skills. Organized and effective communicator
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Proficiency with
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and in particular excellent skills
in the graphic representation of quantitative data
- Excellent references and writing examples
- The ability to work effectively in a self-directed
environment and prioritize tasks to meet multiple short- and long-term
objectives
