Business Analyst
Job Overview
Location: Alpharetta, GA
Job Type: Non-Exempt
Req'd Education: Bachelors
Req'd Experience: 2-4 years
 
Description
This individual works with end users to gather requirements, forms recommendations on possible alternatives, and presents these alternatives to management to determine an action plan. The Business Analyst is then responsible for carrying out the action plan by following the team’s methodologies, and coordinates with the development team associates and other departments to ensure the process or system improvement is implemented appropriately.

Responsibilities
- Works closely with end users to develop a detailed understanding of user needs, and defines requirements for new or improved web sites and/or applications
- Works on complex business problems, analyzing and evaluating current business methods and procedures for improvements
- Consults with technical or functional experts at all levels to obtain requirements and develop solution proposals
- Works with various business owners to develop detailed systems specifications, workflows, design and other documents to meet business requirements
- Troubleshoots issues identified by the end users or team members
- Tests company web sites and applications, and works with the QA and development teams to debug them
- Supports UAT activities with end users
- Works closely with Project Managers to set priorities and successfully drive projects to completion with minimal supervision
 
Requirements
- Two to four years in a Business Analyst role with experience in gathering business requirements, building functional requirements, UML, design and workflow, and UAT
- Self starter, technical savvy, creative, out-of-the-box thinker
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team based on need
- Demonstrated ability to act in a consultative role to understand functional business processes and related IT needs and to develop solutions and delivery proposals
- Experience in participating in cross-functional project team environment
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Business Analyst experience related to web sites and/or applications
- SharePoint, most preferably MOSS 2007
- Provider credentialing
- Healthcare industry
- UML tools
- MS Project
