Job Description: Clearwire is offering an exciting
opportunity to get involved in the early stages of data warehouse
development. This role will be responsible for design, development,
testing and deployment of Clearwire data warehouse and data mart
solutions. This person will work closely with various functional teams
to translate business requirements into optimized data storage systems
and design/develop appropriate dimensional modeling and ETL processes.
The position requires a highly motivated individual comfortable with
rapid changes in direction and environment. The successful candidate
will be customer oriented, results driven (i.e. metrics oriented) and
passionate about developing a cost efficient systems environment.
Job Responsibilities:
(20%) Coordinate with business partners in the
creation of Business Intelligence functional requirements. Develop high
level and detail designs for Operational Data Store (ODS), data mart
and data warehouse projects.
(45%) ETL development including creation of data mappings and
workflows, jobs scheduling, maintenance and enhancement of custom ETL
code.
(15%) Create system documentation including, but not limited to, source
to target data mapping, database design diagrams, programming
specifications, etc.
(10%) Develop system test plans and test cases. Execute testing
activities within project timeframes. Monitor and report on progress of
testing activities against plan.
(10%) Provide technical support for the enterprise data warehouse,
including the development of enhancement requests and defect
resolution. Perform second tier on-call support for production ETL
processes, as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications (include skills, experience and education):
* 3+ years experience in data warehouse development
* 5+ years experience with SQL
* Degree in Computer Science and/or 7+ years related work experience.
* Knowledge/experience with data warehousing concepts such as data modeling, data quality, SCD, ETL.
* Knowledge/experience with both Entity Relational Models, and Dimensional Models.
* Strong understanding of the ETL tools and their use
* Working knowledge of the Business Intelligence (BI, OLAP, ROLAP) tools
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong analytic and problem solving skills
* Prior start-up experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience developing ETL code using DataStage (Ascential)
* Experience with Power Designer data modeling, Cognos BI tools, Sybase IQ
* Experience with LINUX-based server platforms and shell script development
* Experience with system development life cycle and source code control
