Chevron U.S.A. Inc. is accepting online applications for the position
of Manager, Analytic Solutions located in Houston, TX through June 1,
2008.
Overview:
Global Supply and Trading (GS&T) is building its
commercial analytical capability, and is seeking talented and motivated
candidates to establish its new Market Research and Analytics
department (MRA). Successful candidates will join the new team and
create a high level of analytical capability to support upstream,
downstream, and trading commercial activities.
The Manager, Analytic Solutions position contributes to this capability
by organizing the development and deployment of analytical tools,
methods and services as required by the business. This position also
leads Decision Analysis activities in support of large corporate
projects.
Position Details: Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
* Assists General Manager of MRA in developing
mission, vision and strategic direction for Analytics in GS&T. As
MRA leadership team member, helps prioritize, organize, plan, and
execute MRA mission day-to-day.
* Actively leads, manages, and supervises a team of Decision
Analysts (DA) and other deployment analysts. Allocates resources as
appropriate to support short term supply and trading activities, as
well as strategic, infrastructure, and business development projects.
Recruits, hires and supervises personnel for MRA.
* Builds Decision Analysis (DA) capability to support large
corporate projects. Networks with other centers of DA capability across
the Corporation PRC, ETC, Upstream to share and apply best
practices, recruit and develop talent, and tap resources to support
client needs. Collaborates with Quantitative Analyst and Fundamental
Analyst teams to integrate analytical disciplines into a powerful
fit-for-purpose offering.
* Deploys analytical tools and models to the supply and trading
teams. Organizes MRA and consultant resources to gather business
requirements for analytical tools. Manages the rollout of tools and
models developed by MRA for the business teams, including tailoring for
specific needs, IT interface, consultant interface, documentation,
training, and change management. Gathers improvement ideas for existing
tools and models, and disseminates tool and model upgrades to the
business teams. Assists Manager Quantitative Analysis and Manager
Fundamental Analysis in developing relationships with business unit
trading desks, team leads, and GM's to ensure analytical requirements
are being met.
* Similarly, this position leads the development of internal MRA
infrastructure projects such as databases, analytical engine selection
and procurement, specialized computer processing hardware, etc.
* Communicates and promotes compliance with established analytical
standards and documentation practices within MRA and across its client
base. * * Leads development and improvement of internal MRA processes.
* Engages other corporate analytical groups to exploit synergies such as
people, tools, methods, and data. Organizes periodic training for
traders, commercial analysts and other MRA clients on latest analytical
tools and methods.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- BS degree Economics, Engineering, Finance, other analytical discipline;
- Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD or Masters in Math, Economics, Engineering, Finance, other Quantitative disciplines prefered.
- BS degree in quantitative discipline with commensurate experience
- Relocation Options:
- Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
