Application Engineers - Customer Engineering

The position reports to the Director of Services.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Manage requirements, design, development and delivery of extensions,
    customizations to on-demand application
  • Proactively communicate with Engagement managers, Business analysts
    and customer contacts.
  • Understand deployment architecture and deploy solutions.
  • Manage development and delivery through junior team members
    on-site/off-shore.

Desirable Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in web-based business application development.
  • Experience installing and supporting Java applications with database
    backend required.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, web tools and Databases.
  • Ability to do hands-on role and provide leadership to technical team
    members.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently, effectively
    leveraging provided tools.
  • Experience with source code management systems.
  • Ability to work with QA and Engineering to solve customer issues in a
    timely manner.
  • Knowledge of hosted application delivery desirable.
  • Technical Skills: JSP/ASP, Javascript, PERL, Shell scripting, SQL.

Engagement Manager, InstantisSanta Clara, CA


Professional Services: Engagement Manager

Summary: The Engagement Manager is a critical customer facing position responsible for successful deployment and roll-out of EnterpriseTrack™ software for our top-tier customers. This position requires exceptional communication skills, ability to grasp customer business needs and translate these into configuration settings of the EnterpriseTrack™ software, successfully project manage the deployment, and ultimately make the customer successful with our software.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer deployments and on-going relationship with customers
  • Understand customer requirements and configure on-demand application
  • Proactively communicate with customers
  • Manage commercial terms on services deliverables
  • Be the Customer champion within the company

 Qualifications:

  • 10 plus years experience in an enterprise application deployment
  • Experience with customer project or account management
  • Experience with portfolio management applications desired
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively build long-term relationships
  • Ability to explain technical information to functional users
  • Ability to learn customer business process quickly and articulate
  • Ability to effectively track customer service requests, document issues and resolutions
  • Knowledge of hosted application delivery desirable
  • Technical Skills: Project Management Applications, SQL

Engineering Manager, InstantisSanta Clara, CA


Engineering: Engineering Manager

Summary: The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of developers (local and offshore) and play a critical role in the technical design, development and testing of our product. A successful candidate has a strong technical background, excellent communication skills and will be extremely motivated.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary designer, planner and project manager for adding features to Instantis EnterpriseTrack(TM) product
  • Work closely with the Product Management to define features and create requirement documents
  • Willingness to take a hands-on approach to work when necessary
  • Provide high level design of the new features to off-shore project leads
  • Create and/or review design documentation and ensure that the design adheres to the design goals and overall architecture of the product
  • Perform code reviews and provide feedback to off-shore project leads
  • Ensure that the code adheres to the coding standards
  • Work on a day to day basis with project leads in providing them technical guidance and mentorship
  • Take end-to-end ownership to ensure that the feature functionality is complete as per the requirements from Product Management
  • Take end-to-end ownership for the quality of the features delivered
  • Expected to jump in and do coding and bug fixing as needed
  • Assist the Support and Sales teams with the investigation and resolution of customer issues.
  • Perform code reviews of changes done by the professional services engineering team

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science required. Master's preferred
  • Must have 2 plus years of managing software development efforts with demonstrated track record of successfully delivering releases of enterprise software product
  • Must have 7 plus years of software development experience in Enterprise Software or Internet Applications
  • Must have experience managing off-shore software development team
  • Must have Skills: Java/C++, JDBC, Servlets, HTML, Javascript, XML, SQL, Oracle
  • Should be a quick learner. Be able to quickly acquire deep architectural and technical understanding of the product
  • Excellent project management skills, time management skills, effective planning, management and control of projects
  • Strong experience with software development lifecycle

Professional Services: Engineer Developer/Lead

Summary: The Professional Services engineer is responsible for engineering activities relating to delivery of extensions, integrations, and customizations to EnterpriseTrack™. The key skills required are extraction of specific requirements from customers, creation of a design, and performing the development tasks - either individually or through a team. The key outcome should be the successful and stable delivery of the capability to the customer so it is usable, meets the requirements, is robust, scalable and maintainable.
