Senior Post Sales Technical Consultant
Location: Chicago, IL
Reporting to: General Manager
Salary Range: Salary + Bonus commensurate with experience
Role definition:
To provide technical support for implementing and
expanding installations of the WX2 database technology. This is a
client-facing role, having accountability for managing client
expectations while delivering WX2 related services and solutions. The
ideal candidate will be situated in our Chicago based US headquarters.
The role is: fast-paced, customer facing, technical and involves travel
across the US and to the UK for training.
Candidate Attributes:
Required:
- A thorough knowledge of relational database technology in large-scale data warehousing environment.
- Ability to deliver WX2 data warehouse solutions
through consulting services, thought leadership, technical and industry
expertise to Kognitio's clients.
- Work independently or manage a small on-site delivery team
- Experience working with and/or for: Teradata, DB2, Netezza, Datallegro, Greenplum preferred
- 5 years industry experience required, with 2 years of
recent hands-on project work on a data warehousing implementation is
mandatory.
Desirable:
- Experience in a consulting environment for a Business Intelligence company or a BI practice of a System Integrator
- Business skills & domain knowledge in retail, financial services or telecommunications
- Finds data and information discovery interesting - investigative mind
- Flexible and creative approach to technical and data solutions
- Proven track record of success in a consulting environment
- ETL implementation experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
Other:
- Analytical experience - Data mining, statistics or modeling in SAS, SPSS, etc.
- Project management experience with an ability to work with front-line technical staff as well client management of all levels
- Data modeling experience
- Systems delivery and implementation experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
- Organized, adaptable, a self-starter, highly motivated by challenge, and a team player.
- Preference for working in a virtual environment.

To provide technical presales support for sale of
WX2 database technology. Candidate will work closely with sales team
and presales peers through full sales cycle from prospecting through
qualification, including; vision creation, proof of concepts, solution
engineering, and proposition creation into delivery, set-up and initial
deployment. The ideal candidate will be situated in our Chicago based
US headquarters. The role is: fast-paced, customer facing, technical
and involves travel across the US and to the UK for training.
Candidate Attributes:
Required:
- Excellent interpersonal skills – Presales technical presentations and demonstrations
- Solid writing skills - Ability to respond to RFI/RFQ/RFP etc.
- Senior level experience with relational database technologies
- Strong SQL knowledge and implementation skills
- Practical Unix/Linux end-user and administrator skills
- Experience working with and/or for: Teradata, DB2, Netezza, Datallegro, Greenplum preferred
Desirable:

Sales – District Sales Manager,

Sales – District Sales Manager
Location: Chicago, IL
Reporting to: General Manager
Salary Range: Salary + Bonus + Equity commensurate with experience
Role definition:
District Sales Managers (DSM’s) are,
initially, reporting directly to the General Manager of US Operations,
and will operate as individual contributors. They will utilize existing
contacts of previous customers and partners to evangelize and sell
Kognitio’s products and services.
DSM’s will also receive leads from the inside sales organization
who will have vetted the accounts, quantified the opportunity and
progressed the sales cycle to the point of where the District Sales
Manager can move the opportunity to closure.
DSM’s understand Kognitio’s value proposition and the
unique positioning of WX2 so that they can sell the appropriate
products and services at all levels within their accounts.
Candidate Attributes:
Required:
- Proven track record of 10-15 years of high tech sales in the DW/BI markets, preferably with early stage start up companies
- Track record of meeting or exceeding quota consistently.
- Demonstrates an ability to manage solution oriented,
multi-month, multi-million dollar, complex sales cycles comprised of
software and services.
- Demonstrates a proven track record of selling technology solutions to large multi-national corporations.
- An ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding, unstructured environment.
- A complete view and understanding of large-scale data warehousing.
- Demonstrates an ability to coordinate and motivate colleagues as well as business partners.
- Experience working with and or for: Oracle, Teradata, IBM/DB2, Netezza, DATAllegro, Greenplum preferred
Desirable:
- Experience selling for a Business Intelligence company or a BI practice of a System Integrator
- Personal and professional relationships at large systems integrators, consultancies and technology partners
- Proven track record of leadership and teamwork
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
