Job Description: Lean Mfg Engineer

Position Summary:
Seeking a Senior Lean Manufacturing Engineer to focus on implementing lean manufacturing practices and philosophies throughout the organization. The candidate must be able to reduce variable and operational costs utilizing Lean methodology's to eliminate non-value added steps and waste in core manufacturing processes. You will champion Lean opportunity training events, may lead lean/kaizen events and hold manufacturing management reviews.  Help drive Lean and DFM requirements for select new product introduction products and processes.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience, formal training in Lean Manufacturing,, minimum 5 years process improvement experience. The ideal candidate would have 2-3 years of experience in assembly, cables, and wiring of switch gear related equipment. The candidate should possess practical hands on experience on process improvements using quality tools that may include but not limited to, Design of experiments (DOE), process capability assessment, error-proofing, six sigma, lean manufacturing and Statistical Process Control (SPC).  The candidate should show leadership, good communication, ability to drive manufacturing improvement and meet quality goals.  

You should have proven skills and thorough knowledge of the principles, philosophy, and most importantly, the results-oriented application of Lean and Six-Sigma, and how the two methodologies complement each other. Certification in Green or Black Belt is a plus. Your main focus will be fostering a Lean environment, concentrating on 5S, mistake proofing, kan-ban and other lean tools. You will perform data analysis, define priorities, manage projects and focus on improvement of production, quality, costs and flow performance

Skills Required:
Demonstrates effective skill in planning, monitoring and accomplishing goals of a specific project.
Lean Manufacturing concepts
Training and Proficiency in Six Sigma, problem solving methodology and  tools, certified Green Belt, Black Belt preferred
Analytical, data driven and comfortable with statistical analysis
Proficient with Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Project Management
Excellent verbal and written communication ability.
Customer Interface
Waste Elimination
CAD proficiency AutoCAD preferred.
Must be self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Strong team player, and a positive whatever it takes attitude.
