Responsibilities
Opportunity for a senior quantitative analyst to
lead the research and model development for calculating the financial
risks of fixed income assets. The ideal candidate will be familiar with
modeling techniques, performance analytics and structured finance and
will be able to work in a team environment. The candidate will also be
involved in creating research publications and presentations related to
the models.
Qualifications
Applicant should have a PhD in a quantitative
discipline and 6+ years of demonstrated research experience developing
quantitative models in the fixed income market. Knowledge of
Econometrics, Mathematical Modeling, Term Structure modeling and Monte
Carlo Methods is a must. CDO/CDS modeling and valuation a plus.
Experience with statistical modeling platforms such as S-plus or SAS
applied to large data-sets is desirable. The ideal candidate will also
have ability to write technical research, and have had experience in
effectively managing a team of quantitative analysts.

Responsibilities
As the Senior Research Analyst - Head of Thought Leadership for Moody's
Investors Service you will be responsible for the development,
management and delivery of a Thought Leadership Research program to
address key themes and issues of importance to Institutional Investors
and Credit professionals globally. You will champion themes,
bring your ideas into focus, lead research efforts and leverage
expertise within the agency to prepare timely, relevant research with
impact. Working to a fairly aggressive schedule you will
produce applied financial/economic research focused on evolving market,
regulatory, individual industry, or sector trends that merit
consideration and focus by credit market professionals. We are
looking for someone with an excellent grounding in economics, the
inter-relationships of the capital markets and ideally some practical
experience working within a financial institution. You enjoy
writing and have a style suited to a professional audience that values
thoughtful ideas supported by sound research and clear
presentation. You will have access to a wealth of credit,
economic, market performance, and ratings analysts and data within the
Agency in addition to other publicly available sources. Position
includes presentation of research to various forums both internal and
external as well as contributing research results to the presentations
of senior staff.
Qualifications
Graduate work in economics and finance, in-depth understanding of
debt and capital markets; initiative; ability to work under tight
deadlines; able to function independently; strong organizational,
communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively
with subject matter experts and respond flexibly to changing needs of
the organization. Excellent writing and presentation skills are a must,
as well as three to five years experience in applied economic/financial
analysis, commentary and writing. Experience in business
journalism would be a definite plus. Education
Requirements: Ph.D. (or ABD) degree in Economics or Finance;
excellent academic record.
