The ASN engineering team is looking for a seasoned Senior Manager/Director of QA to assume the overall ownership of the ASN Quality Assurance process and manage the QA engineering teams. This position is very critical and highly visible within the engineering organization and beyond.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide strong leadership to the QA organization responsible for testing multiple products
* Play an active role in driving the test automation initiative to increase efficiency to Ariba's testing process
* Drive and manage sustaining process including customer/tech support escalations to engineering, software patch/hot fix schedules with an eye on the overall customer satisfaction metrics
* Establish operational objectives and work plans, and delegate assignments to line managers.
* Utilize technical, project management, and people management experience to actively lead regional and global projects.
* Take responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & ABILITIES
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Clear understanding of the product development cycle, technical requirements, and project management.
* Strong understanding of concepts related to computer architecture, data structures and programming practices.
* Ability to work effectively with staff to executive level employees and employees within and outside of their function and organization.
* MS or PhD is a plus

BASIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum BS CS/CE or equivalent
* A combination of an individual contributor level experience and a minimum of 5 years of management experience is required.
* Experience with developing budgets and predicting project costs.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple critical projects is required.
* Extensive second-level management experience
* Extensive experience in managing test automation design and development processes
* Experience in managing teams across multiple global locations
* Experience in testing of SaaS (Software as a service)/On-Demand enterprise solutions
