Basic Qualification:
* BA/BS in mathematics, statistics, engineering or related field
* 8 years pharmaceutical/healthcare experience in two of the following
areas: market research, analytics, forecasting, marketing or
managed markets
* Of these, 2 years experience in managed market analytics or research
role, with knowledge of the healthcare payer environment
* Staff management experience
Preferred qualifications:
* MBA or MS in relevant field
* Knowledge of wide range of qualitative and quantitative research and
analytical techniques, including their applications, constraints and
approproiateness to achieve information and business decision-making
needs
* Demonstrated ability to fuel development of and then apply new, innovative analytical and research methodologies
* Excellent business analysis skills with proven ability to use information for actionable business decisions
* Effective team and project leader, especially when working with multi-disciplinary skills and levels in the organization
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal and client management skills, demonstrated through management or consulting experience
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and to negotiate priorities.
* For higher level position: Minimum 2 years experience as a commercial analysis director or comparable role
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for all market
research, insight development and analytics as required to understand
the healthcare payer environment and drive optimal decision
making. The individual will be the primary contact for the
Managed Markets organization for all commercial analysis deliverables
(analytics, primary and secondary market research, customer and market
insights, diagnostics) and services, while also supporting the payer
research and analytical needs for Marketing and Sales. This
incumbant will design, develop and implement new research and
analytical approaches for the evolving healthcare payer environment.
In addition:
* Ensure strategic thinking and application of all
commercial analysis products (analytics, primary and secondary market
research, customer and market insights, diagnostics), services and
tools for the Managed Markets department and develop integrated work
plan to deliver these.
* Provide “facts and data” based guidance for allocation of resources for managed market segments and customers
* Deliver annual and ongoing situation analyses, diagnostics and analytics.
* Drive the development of new market research and analytic
capabilities to support the Managed Markets department and drive
optimal decison making.
* Drive integration and synthesis of information from a variety of sources to answer key business questions.
* Collaborate with/create strategic partnership with other areas of
Commercial Analysis, including other therapy teams and expert functions.
* Collaborate with/create strategic partnerships with Managed Markets
management and with other departments supporting Managed Markets.
* Maintain an indepth understanding of the healthcare payer environment, dynamics and challenges and its potential impact.
* Provide ongoing prioritization of resources in line with critical business needs and ability to deliver.
* Create systems and processes that support ongoing change, innovation, and flexibility.
* Work with gMACS to offshore analytical activities where appropriate.
* Recruit, train and develop staff to achieve business objective and identify opportunities for continual improvement.
* Actively develop and coach team members.
