Overview:
Pentaho Consultants are creative technical leaders who provide design, implementation, training and mentoring services to Pentaho customers and partners in both onsite and classroom settings. These individuals are customer-oriented and capable of developing advanced BI solutions using Pentaho's data integration and business intelligence products. The right candidate for this position enjoys working in fast-paced enterprise environment with a diverse group of business and technical professionals. Position requires up to 80% travel.

• Assessing and documenting customers' business and technical requirements using a structured interviewing approach
• Recommending implementation methodologies and architectures to satisfy technical objectives
• Designing multi-dimensional data models (logical & physical)
• Performing component-level integration between Pentaho software and the customers' IT infrastructures
• Developing, documenting and deploying ETL jobs, metadata views, reports, analytic schema and dashboards
• Communicating effectively with Pentaho sales team and participating in the account management process
• Occasionally serve as instructor for onsite and classroom courses that fall within the consultant's domain of expertise and interest

• B.A. or B.S. degree required
• Major or minor in computer science or MIS a plus
• Previous BI consulting experience with an SI or ISV
• Experience working with the Pentaho platform or comparable commercial BI suites
• Significant prior experience (5+ years) developing data integration and BI solutions in an enterprise setting
• Solid knowledge of core BI concepts and methodologies
• Practical working knowledge of ETL and OLAP concepts (ROLAP / MDX), portal technologies and web application development languages (JSP, HTML, XSLT)
• Practical working knowledge of commercial and open source databases (Oracle, MySQL and/or Postgres) and application servers (JBoss, Tomcat and/or Websphere)
• Ability to systematically assess and accurately describe customer requirements
• Ability to design and implement BI solutions using standard design methodologies (e.g. dimensional modeling)
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally on engagements lasting up to six weeks.
