Software Engineer (Java Specialist), QL2 Software, Seattle, WA

We are looking for a java developer to work on our hosted information services platform. You will design and develop next generation applications that are changing the way businesses manage information. QL2 offers a high level of autonomy, creative freedom, and recognition to motivated software developers that wish to make a significant impact in a small, agile organization.

Responsibilities:
Maintain and extend existing Java code base.
Ensure consistent delivery of high quality code.
Work with internal customers to understand and develop requirements.

Requirements:
2+ years in professional software development.
2+ years in Java programming experience.
1+ years implementing network applications and working with complex multi-threaded systems.
1+ years with SQL and relational database concepts.
Enjoys working independently and takes pride in quality software.
Fluency in Java, HTML, and the basic foundations of web applications in general.
Comfortable with SQL and basic database concepts.
Comfortable prioritizing work on simultaneous projects.

Preferred:
Experience developing on Windows and UNIX.
Experience with JavaScript, JSP, servlets, and AJAX.
Skilled at user-interface design..
Experience with distributed systems.
Comfortable making potentially large changes to an existing code base..
Comfortable testing and debugging in a server environment where high-level tools might not always be practical.

This is a Full Time position with virtually no travel requirements.
