Data Project Administrator, Vanguard, Valley Forge, PA
Position Type: Full Time
Description:
Vanguard, one of the
world's leading investment management companies, seeks an experienced
Data Project Administrator to execute and own all aspects of
data-related projects for Implementation Services.
You'll consult with
clients to assess data needs and implement plans for system redesigns,
full-scale data cleanup (in client HRIS and payroll systems, and
Vanguard's recordkeeping system), and conversions. You'll develop the
data requirements document that serves as a framework for each
implementation project. You'll work extensively with the prior record
keeper, payroll vendor, and client to resolve data issues and manage
timeframes for implementation projects. You'll discuss data workflow
and exchange processes with internal clients, including Recordkeeping
Services, Client Services, Participant Education, Risk, Treasury, IT,
and DTS. Acting as the primary contact for a number of internal
external clients and vendors, you'll identify data issues that may
impact the successful implementation of conversions and recommend
solutions.
You'll develop, monitor
and own project plans and schedules for ongoing client data exchanges
for new plans, and manage changes to the client data exchange. You'll
analyze the initial population of data for conversion and new service
implementation projects. You'll work with Participant Education to
ensure that all service related-participant communication is updated
and accurate, and recommend system changes that will simplify data for
participants.
Using existing data
management tools and techniques, you'll facilitate the conversion of
client information into Vanguard's systems. You'll also develop new
tools and techniques to analyze data, meet client's needs, maintain the
integrity of the data, and build consistency. You'll coordinate the
project team's knowledge of control totals and data reconciliations
from test and live records. You'll be expected to show leadership among
peers, and to proactively assist with issue resolution, mentoring, and
training.
Position Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Three to five years
business experience plus a minimum of two years of Defined Contribution
recordkeeping or conversion experience.
- Excellent understanding of data and analysis tools (Access, Excel, K-Edit, IRPS data driven systems).
- Thorough knowledge of VISTA, VISION, PRS and other data driven IRPS systems.
- General understanding of ERISA.
- Project management experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to motivate others.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work within project timelines with attention to detail.
- Must be flexible to complete various duties as assigned.
- Ability to work in high volume area within tight time constraints.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Special Factors:
Ability to travel to client locations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
