This position is for a Manufacturing Technology Engineer in the PMTQA
department of the FMSCO Division. This individual will focus on
supporting the Optical Systems Division Handheld business.
Primary responsibilities will be supporting new production
introductions (NPI) projects and quality improvement/cost reduction
programs (QICR) for the business.
The position of Manufacturing Technology Engineer located in
Maplewood/St. Paul, Minnesota will be responsible for but not limited
to the following specific duties:
- Lead or support the scale-up of new products by
working in a cross-functional enviroment. Specifically working
closely with the laboratory and manufacturing organizations.
- Lead or support quality improvement and cost reductions projects.
- Work with international locations to confirm product performance requirements are met.
Although relocation benefits have been authorized for this requisition,
the total benefit provided under 3M's relocation policy will be capped
at no more than $25,000.
Qualifications
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an acredited institution.
- 3 years of experience in a lab, pilot plant or manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Working experience with international locations particularly Asia.
- Six Sigma knowledge and experience.
- Experience with web based processes.
- Solid understanding design of experiments and statistics.
