Position Description
This Quality Engineering position is in support of Lenovo's new US
Fulfillment Center in Whitsett NC. The quality engineer will be
responsible for establishing, overseeing and continual improvement of
the Fulfillment Centers quality system. This position relies on
experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. The Quality
Engineer will need to perform a wide variety of complicated tasks with
a wide degree of activity. The Quality engineer will support second
stage manufacturing/configuration of notebook, desktop and workstation
computers. In addition there will be low volume 1st stage manufacturing
of these same products. The Quality Engineer will also support the
distribution value added services provided out of the Fulfillment
Center. Returns and Refurbiishment of products will also be supported
by the Quality Engineer.
Position Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Equivalent
- Knowledge of computer assembly or related industries
- Knowledge of quality tools such as SPC, DOE, Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 9000 etc.
- Excellent communications skills
- Computer skills including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access.
- Define and Maintain Quality plans and documents
- Provide metrics and quality data for reporting purposes
- Analyze and troubleshoot quality problems
- Ensure that the quality system is implemented and
maintained in accordance with the Quality Manual and other applicable
documents
- Establish the methods for and oversee all quality
activities including incoming inspection, in process inspections, and
final quality testing.
- Develop and participate in training of quality personnel, including on the job training is effective.
- Initiate actions to ensure prevention of occurences of non-conformance
- Identify issues with product quality and provide corrective recommendations to WW Quality Engineering
- Perform internal audits of quality controls
- Work on and lead teams in root cause analysis and
preventive actions, creating procedures and work instructions to
implement changes to the quality system and verifying the effectiveness
of these changes
- Collect, analyze and report information to provide monitoring of quality system perfomance
- Carry out special projects.
