Description
 
This role has responsibility for partnering with Marketing, Strategic Business Units and Acquisition Systems to determine policies that balance the risk and reward of bringing in new/more customers accounts. 
 
The incumbent will have a focus on the fast growing internet and instant credit area within acquisition strategy team. As a risk senior analyst, you will conduct moderate to complex risk analysis, to provide management with consumer credit quality trends, desired risk/return relationships and actual performance of portfolio in terms of credit risk.
 
You will analyze and help manage the quality of credit card acquisition programs, administer corrective action and protect the bank from losses resulting from poor credit quality. This may include analysis of front-end operations (loan growth strategies, underwriting decisions, and credit quality of new volume) as well as analysis of back-end operations (delinquency and charge-off performance). You will also analyze delinquency ratios, trends and other negative characteristics, which could adversely affect the portfolio.
 
To be successful in this position you will:
  • Help the organization balance credit risk with overall profitability 
  • Run a process which continually adjusts credit loss expectations versus profitability expectations
  • Work with Marketing, Finance, and internal Credit stakeholders to make quarterly investment decisions 
  • Provide loss reporting and forecast recommendations
  • Interact with IT, operations to monitor credit characteristics from risk perspective
  • Have great flexibility in changing environment 
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in a quantitative discipline (i.e., statistics, economics, finance)  is required; advanced degree preferred 
  • Strong analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills, which will require interpreting large amounts of data and its impact
  • PC skills including demonstrated experience with SAS, SQL and office related products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • 3+ years analytical experience in Consumer Finance is required
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills are necessary
  • Must take ownership of assigned duties and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and meet ongoing deadlines
  • Perform ad hoc analysis
