Job Title: Java/J2EE Software Engineer
Requirements
- 5+
years experience in developing large-scale enterprise-wide systems
using Web-based, distributed, fault-tolerant applications in UNIX &
Windows environments and using Java/J2EE based application servers
(Tomcat, JBoss, etc.) including servlets, JSP, Java Beans, RMI, and
JDBC
- In-depth
knowledge of multiple technology platforms such as XML/XSLT, Struts,
Hibernate, Eclipse, JUnit, Ant, JUnit, Xdoclet, Log4j, Commons, etc.
Knowledge of OOAD, OOP, component-based development, WebServices and
service-based architectures required
- Experience using one or more database servers including Oracle, Postgres, MySql, etc.
- Understanding
of software vendors and platforms in one or more domains Knowledge of
application frameworks and design patterns with some experience in
application rationalization and reverse engineering processes
Required Skills
- Excellent
problem solving skills, resourcefulness in dealing with performance
tuning/optimization/memory leak/fault tolerance/caching architecture
issues
- Must be able to confidently make technical recommendations and drive decisions without close supervision
- Experience
following a defined software process including requirements, design,
coding, peer review, unit testing, and configuration management;
ability to interact and successfully work with developers in other
groups is highly desirable
- Strong
ability to estimate engineering effort and rationalize technical
trade-offs; must be able to independently design, code and test major
features, as well as work jointly with other teams (in-house and
customer) to deliver complex product releases
- Proven results oriented person with a delivery focus Technical acumen combined with strong interpersonal skills
- High energy level team player with a hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves style with good influencing skills
- Proactive in communicating technical vision to team.
- Required Education: MS/BS in Computer Science/EE or related field
