Satisfies the tactical and analytical information needs of the
organization. Employs several programming languages of different
utility to access information systems (Data Warehouses, data marts, raw
data source files, etc.) to provide information support to all
departments across Credit Card Services. Satisfies immediate Marketing,
Risk and Finance reporting requirements and enhances the process to
facilitate accuracy, consistency and timeliness of information delivery
between the departments. Supports the campaign process by developing
the interim information deliverables required for decision making and
creating campaign files required to populate mail, telephone and
internet channels. Develops code to generate information deliverables
and assists other Analysts in other departments regarding the use of
information sources to satisfy information requirements.
Meets with end-users or clients of the business unit to discuss the
required information to be extracted from the database or mainframe
source files. Listens, clarifies and confirms specifications. Offers
suggestions and alternatives when ascertaining the type of information
to be extracted. Reaches consensus on specifications and moves to
execution. Transforms business criteria and logical specifications into
code and develops programs to generate file extracts and MIS reports.
Develops, tests and writes simple to moderately complex application
programs, queries or profiles according to specifications. Codes and
changes programs as necessary. Modifies existing programs to meet the
needs of the end-user or client.
Develops and supports a wide variety of information deliverables in
both ad hoc and production fashion. Develops and produces standard
reports and files and delivers according to specification. Implements
profitability algorithms, segmentation schemes and propensity to
purchase models. Supports revenue generation programs. Interfaces with
Marketing and Risk departments to translate strategy into executable
instructions. Executes campaigns to completion. Develops and tunes
criteria and programs, as well as produces interim campaign MIS,
campaign file development and backend campaign tracking and reporting.
Designs, develops and maintains databases and data marts a needed for
MIS, end-user computing and statistical modeling. Diagnoses underlying
problems related to data integrity. Consults with business unit
personnel, systems Analysts and other end-users on data quality issues.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Business, Social Science
• Demonstrated proficiency in programming in SAS, Easytrieve, COBOL, SQL, PERL, or JAVA
• Ability to actively listen, interview and apply information from meetings to complete assigned tasks
• Excellent cognitive and mathematical aptitude
• Ability and complete tasks with minimal direction
