PRIMARY Responsibilities/Duties/PROJECT:
This is an exciting opportunity to serve as a Senior Business Analyst driving requirements for Rebook process during irregular operation as part of the “customer self sufficiency” strategy. The person will partner with multiple business stakeholders and Information Technology teams to analyze processes associated with the rebook and restore functions as well as statistics reporting and tracking. This person will map out current state and proposed future state processes, solidify loosely defined high-level business requirements and transform them into functional and technical designs for the development of automation to support the new processes. The person may be expected to assist in the estimation of benefits, support automation development, testing and field deployment. You may also have the opportunity to participate in the business analysis for other customer self-sufficiency projects. This person must be a self starter, good team player and problem solver with strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
 
  • Utilizes experience and knowledge of Project Management, Business Analysis, and technical skills to Lead the analysis of complex business problems to be solved with technical and non-technical solutions. 
  • Serves as a subject matter expert associated with content, processes, procedures and business/technology roadmap associated with irregular operations and rebooking customers. 
  • Leads the detailed requirements stage, analyzes business needs, and validates solutions with the client. 
  • Applies functional knowledge to design and customization of workflow systems that provide seamless integration for applications. 
  • Understanding of OOD/A techniques, translates the business requirements into use cases, activity diagrams, and functional specifications to define the scope and requirements for development projects.
  • Identify and facilitate the resolution of requirements, process, and project issues. 
  • Provides feasibility estimates and task durations.
  • Assists in the development of project plans specifying project objectives, tasks, staff requirements, identification of risks, and contingency planning. 
  • Takes ownership of business related issues, performs a consulting role in solving those issues in working with both Business and IT.
  • Performs business impact analysis of new systems and process, and ensures business readiness for deployment.
 
Qualifications
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • 4+ years of professional experience as a business analyst on technology initiatives including 2+ years on J2EE projects.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and communicate business concepts to technical teams. 
  • The position requires strong knowledge and experience with large enterprise projects and all project life-cycle phases.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business practices and processes, with ability to clearly document and communicate business concepts
  • Hands-on proficiency with word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), Visio, Microsoft Project, Internet browsers, and e-mail
  • General knowledge of relational database technologies and object oriented analysis & design desired
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of computer, software, networking, and Internet technologies including content management
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of project management processes and skills
  • Experience working with off-shore development provider is desired
  • Airline or travel agency experience and CRS (Apollo or Sabre) experience is a plus
  
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • BS in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, or Computer Science.
  • Master‘s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
 
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • Standard Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Process mapping using Visio
  • Object Oriented Analysis and Design
  • Use Case Development and Analysis,
  • User Interface design
  • HTML screen development
  • Creation of SQL queries
  • Knowledge of data mining and statistical techniques preferred.
