Job Description: The Associate Director, Business Planning
Oncology reports both to the SVP Oncology and Rheumatology Strategic
Business Unit (ORSBU) and the VP, Business Planning. The role provides
financial strategy and planning leadership to the ORSBU, which is
responsible for the commercialization of Rituxan in Oncology, Rituxan
in Rheumatoid Arthritis and late stage development programs. Specific
responsibilities include:
1. Support the ORSBU Director of Strategy in creating the Long Range
Strategic Plan for the ORSBU. This includes collaborating with brand
teams, market research and new product commercialization groups to
ensure robust view of future financial planning assumptions and
establishing financial scenarios consistent with strategic assumptions.
2. Provide budget support to late-stage oncology development programs.
Ensure P&L forecasts reflect team’s current view of product
and market landscape.
3. Execute strategic analyses for the leadership team. May include
resource allocation, market assessments, corporate development support,
investment analysis (ROI, NPV), etc.
4. Develop & deliver senior-level presentations for the long-range plan and current year progress.
5. Point person for all Corporate financial management reporting for
the ORSBU. Perform ongoing FP&A analyses in support of Corporate
management reporting
6. Directly support the SVP in ad hoc financial analysis.
7. Lead the annual business planning process. Work with functional
leaders to develop and communicate the plan across the business unit.
Integrate the impact of strategic and tactical plans on the P&L and
associated budgets.
8. Provide strategic financial leadership with partner Genentech for
the co-promotion of Rituxan in the US. Create and manage annual
collaboration budget with Genetech partner.
9. Serve as member of ORSBU Leadership Team and act as a partner with R&D Qualifications
Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving skills and business acumen.
Ability to communicate effectively and work well across functions.
High degree of comfort with Excel. Knowledge of COGNOS, Essbase and other financial planning systems highly desirable.
Experience or strong interest in pharmaceutical financial planning preferred
