Position Description
This position is in the Global Research, Analysis, and Development(GRAD) team of Nielsen Analytic Consulting (AAC).

The hire will be working closely with other members of the GRAD team locally or globally, as well as AAC Service Area Managers on analytics R&D initiatives to create state-of-the-art statistical models to address the business needs of Nielsen clients. Responsibilities include methodology design, implementation, testing, and commercialization. The position will also work on AAC software application development projects to provide methodological and programming support.

The position will be involved in the entire life cycle of ad hoc custom client projects through out the year. This includes analysing the specific client needs, proposing and implementing the appropriate statistical approach, organizing the findings in a transparent and actionable fashion and following up on additional questions. The position will be held accountable for the on-time delivery of results to exceed the clients' expectations

The position will also be responsible for statistical and SAS programming support and consulting to the AAC operation groups on standard company offerings such as Price Promo, Marketing Mix, Testing, Assortment, and Market Structure Analysis.

Key Skills/Competencies
Ideal candidate will have at minimum a master's degree in statistics, econometrics, mathematics, or other quantitative area with 5 or more years of hands-on experience on statistics modeling, preferrably in a business enviornment.

The candidate should have solid understanding of the basic statistical principles and proven experience with techniques such as linear and logistic regression , discrete choice modeling, multivariate methods including factor analysis and clustering analysis, Time series analysis, data mining, etc.

Fluency with SAS programming in Base SAS and SAS Macro, preferably in the UNIX environment, is required. Knowledge of other statistics software and programming language is a plus. The candidate should also have experience with MS Office tools.

The candidate should be able to communicate effective and efficiently the statistical modeling results to people of diverse background

The candidate should be proactive in pursuit of excellence and improvement in everyday business practice and requires minimum supervision
