This is the showcase facility for my client it is the main plant out of 6 plants worldwide producing this specialty product. The plant has just added a physical chemistry testing laboratory and is earmarked for additional capital improvements and expansions. The position is responsible for oversight of the quality assurance, quality control, and quality compliance operations at the NC facility business unit. The position maintains current full quality management responsibility at the employee’s home manufacturing location.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and guidance on quality initiatives and issues associated with the product manufactured at the site. As well as other manufacturing sites producing similar products and provide technical support for laboratory services.
• Promote and execute global harmonization of quality procedures and compliance practices.
• Develop comprehensive use of KPIs and SPC/SQC at assigned manufacturing sites.
• Effectively manage all quality aspects of home manufacturing location.
• Perform routine and unannounced quality and compliance audits at related manufacturing sites.
• Manage and approve current and new analytical test methods applicable to performance specialties business while striving for method harmonization globally.
Routinely coordinate meetings with business unit quality management to discuss common initiatives and to prioritize quality goals

Required Skills or Abilities

• Competency in major laboratory equipment systems including HPLC, GC, FTIR, Karl Fisher, and wet chemistry techniques.
• Demonstrated success in implementation and maintenance of effective ISO 9001:2000 quality management systems.
• Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
• Demonstrated success with utilizing continuous improvement tools, (Six Sigma)
• Effective written and oral communication skills including public presentations.
• Demonstrated success in resolution of customer complaints and quality issues.
• Demonstrated ability of leadership.
