Thin/Thick Film Process Engineer
A leading microelectronics manufacturing company is looking for a
Thin/Thick Film Process Engineer to work in our Carlsbad, CA location.
As the Thin/Thick Film Process Engineer, you will be responsible for
engaging and supervising the project staff as well as managing the
overall Thick and Thin film processes. You will be influential in
driving the quality of our product by improving upon existing processes
and creating new processes that will enhance our company’s
overall functionality. The ability to communicate project
specifications effectively with both internal team members and clients
alike will make your contribution to our product line invaluable.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the thick film manufacturing process, including but not
limited to: blending and printing resistor links, conductor printing,
print set up, screen makeup and furnace profiling.
• Oversee the thin film manufacturing process, including but not
limited to: purchase of materials (targets, etching materials and
ceramics), sputtering of various metals onto ceramic substrates,
masking and etching.
• Plan and coordinate quality improvement work in the area of Thin
and Thick film processing to fulfill business goals and objectives.
• Develop new, improved and stronger process methodologies that either decrease production time or increase quality.
• Create process documentation that is functional and effective.
Maintain close contact with project staff to assist in the integration
of changes into the product and manufacturing scope.
• Provide direct support to manufacturing and participate in training of production operators and engineers.
• Regular oral presentations and written communication relating to progress and performance of work.
• Responsible for additional specialty printing such as edge
printing, through hole, filled via, fine line printing and thick film
etch back.
Requirements Skills/Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years in either the Thin or Thick Film industry
with at least a working knowledge of the other along with a strong
background in Thin or Thick Film circuits made on a variety of
substrate materials
• Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or Ceramic Technology.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience training and developing manufacturing staff
• Excellent written and communication skills and the ability to interact with staff at all levels
• Working Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing
