QA Manager Opportunity- Major Snack Food Company

This position is responsible for managing, leading and coordinating all quality programs, systems and supports both local plant leadership and Corporate level quality initiatives.

Reporting Relationship
The Quality Assurance Manager will report to the Director of Operations.

Essential Job Duties

1. Insure all lab equip is up to date and all employees are trained.
2. Resolve major quality problems as required.
3. Educate and instruct plant personnel in recommended quality control testing, equipment sanitation and general sanitation and housekeeping practices. Confirm these procedures are being maintained.
4. Consult with plant management and personnel on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields.
5. Coordinate preparation and follow up on all 3rd party audits and inspections
6. Function as an information source for other departments when critical quality issues arise.
7. Assist in development of special department projects and work in conjunction with Corporate Quality Assurance. Examples include sensory evaluation, customer compliant reduction
8. Coordinate staff training in quality systems
9. Mentor the plant food safety team
10. Maintains/enhances all lab related procedures
11. Champions plant sensory evaluation process and customer compliant reduction process
12. Drive continuous improvement in Plant QI scores
13. Responsible for the implantation of policies and procedures to ensure quality standards are met during production.
14. Indirect responsibility for establishing and maintaining a plant master sanitation program, evaluate and provide recommendation for improving plant sanitation program.
15. Maintains employee relations and adheres to company policies taking disciplinary action when necessary
16. Complete documentation in an efficient and timely manner
17. Keep Management informed of deadlines and issues on a regular basis
18. Functions as a safety team member

Scope of Responsibility
Supervises 6 QC Technicians on 3 shifts, independent decision maker, accountable for a budget of $ 275,000.

Supervisory Responsibility
6 QC Technicians, indirect reporting for Vision Stream Sanitation Team and food safety team
