Test Engineer
Responsibilities
The Test Engineer supports the development, characterization,
calibration, and manufacture of consumer robotic products. The Test
Engineer will write test plans, develop test fixtures, specify and
configure test hardware, and develop PC side software related to
sensors, electro-optical devices, mechanisms, and embedded software.
The Test Engineer will also transition the product from engineering to
an overseas manufacturer. This transition will involve putting tests
and debug tools in place for quality control, product reliability, and
field service. This position requires multidisciplinary experience in
optics, mechanics, electronics, and software. The test engineer will be
organized, energetic, and have good communication and organizational
skills.
Required Experience
* A BS or MS in science, mathematics, or engineering
* At least 8 years experience in design, engineering analysis, or manufacturing
* At least 4 years of experience with characterization and test automation
* Experience managing outside vendors and
consultants in the areas of application level software, mechanics, and
optics
* Experience setting up data collection systems and test automation
Required Skills
* Ability to develop test plans for characterization and product reliability
* Ability to write calibration and test procedures
* Knowledge of optics, lasers, electronics, and electro-optical systems
* Analytical/scientific ability to set up experiments and draw meaningful conclusions from their results
* Background in data analysis and statistics
Desirable Experience
* Experience with cameras or image processing
* Familiarity with IR, touch, magnetic, and proximity sensors
* Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PERL
* Database experience
* Coding experience in C, C++, Java, Visual Basic, or Labview
* Background or interest in robotics
* Familiarity with six sigma processes
