Meetings
and
Events for Analytic Professionals
January 13 - 16, San Francisco, CA.
Mini-Course on Remodeling Data Analysis Danny Kaplan and Victor Addona
of Macalester College, have been selected by MAA to present a
mini-course titled "Remodeling Data Analysis" during the JMM
conference. This hands-on mini-course will present a data analysis
course that complements and builds on majors' math aptitudes,
reinforcing an understanding of linear algebra while providing advanced
applied statistical skills. In the course, statistical methodology is
built up in an accessible way from first principles, without requiring
previous course work in statistics. Modeling, computation (using R),
and simulation are used extensively. Registration for this mini-course
is available through the JMM registration site. Contact:

February 25–28, 2010, in Atlanta, GA.ASQ’s
(American Society for Quality) Healthcare and Quality Management
divisions, and The Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) and its
Society for Health Systems (SHS), will launch a joint conference
focused on healthcare quality and process improvement. The new joint
conference will be held February 25–28, 2010, in Atlanta, Ga.
May 10-12th, Hammamet, Tunisia
MOSIM Conference is a major manifestation, with a national and
international wise. It welcomes every two years, more than 250
researchers in the field of Modeling, Optimization and Simulation of
the Systems. For the 2010 edition, conference guiding theme is
"Evaluation and optimization of innovative production systems of goods
and services".
MOSIM’10 will take place in Hammamet (Tunisia), a sightseeing
city. Conference will take place at “Le Royal
Yasmine
Hammamet” hotel. City of the jasmine, orange trees
and
bougainvilleas, Hammamet is also known for its fine sand beaches and
its hydrotherapy centers. Its medina is well protected with
its
still intact bulwarks, its alleys, its souk and 15th
century’s
Kasbah. Hammamet city is located at 65km from Tunis
international
airport and 90km from Monastir airport. Special taxis allow joining the
conference site. “le Royal Hammamet” is a 5 star
category
hotel, with 266 rooms and conference rooms. Special fares have been
negotiated with this hotel.

Nanjing,
China in 26-28, August 2010
An exciting and comprehensive program
highlighting
many state-of-the-art scientific and technological advances is planned.
The subjects include computational intelligence, knowledge discovery
and data mining, intelligent information systems, web mining, synthesis
and analysis of complex objects, non-conventional models of
computation, structure of regulatory systems, control theory and
systems theory. Interdisciplinary research will be given a special
emphasis. Sharing research and experiences and openly discussing
problems will be strongly encouraged in all scientific sessions.
We’re certain that you will find the city of Nanjing and the
surrounding area to be most pleasant and it will be my distinct
pleasure to welcome each of you to the IHMSC in August 2010.
University of Coimbra, Portugal, September 8-10, 2010.
